BAAM.Tech® has been helping customers across the world to discover, define and design creative drone and robotic solutions, including OEM developments and off the shelf solutions. Today, they announce an in-person workshop named “DJI Zenmuse L1 from Flight to Finish: How to create survey deliverables with the DJI L1.” Hosted by BAAM.Tech® Director of Operations, Christian Stallings, CP, and BAAM.Tech® Pilot, Jared Crain. 

The Workshop will take place Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 8AM to 5PM at BAAM.Tech’s corporate affiliate headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas. Address: 9801 Renner Blvd, Lenexa, Kansas 66219. Christian and Jared will be walking through the BAAM.Tech DJI Zenmuse L1 workflow, crafted and taught to BAAM.Tech’s customers across the world. The course is available for $150/attendee, and attendees will have access to the following amenities, including; Hands on demos, PDH Hours and Certificates of Completion, Workshop Notebook, DJI Terra Trial License and a light breakfast and lunch.

The DJI Zenmuse L1 is gaining a reputation among surveyors as being a great balance between capability and affordability. This hands-on workshop will teach you everything you will need to know to go from no drone LiDAR experience to creating accurate and verified survey deliverables using the DJI L1. We will show you:

  • How to flight plan missions for different operational scenarios.
  • How to execute different survey approaches (RTK, PPK)
  • How to post process and calibrate using DJI Terra
  • How to install and navigate Terrasolid UAV
  • How to validate your LiDAR using ground control and validation points and export control reports
  • How to setup and modify your automatic point classification macro
  • How to perform manual ground classification, breakline extraction, and surface generation
  • How to export your survey deliverables for MicroStation and AutoCAD

On-location Training with the Zenmuse L1

Christian has 15 years of remote sensing experience with big data and turning data into actionable answers to meet client needs. He is responsible for BAAM.Tech’s daily operations and manages a diverse team of subject matter experts that include acquisition specialist and data analysts. His original research using drones for high accuracy mapping has won several national awards including the ACEC Grand Conceptor award and the ESRI special achievement in GIS award.

Jared is an Instrument Rated Pilot and Part 107 Commercial drone operator with over four years of experience planning and conducting safe and successful UAS operations. He has experience with a broad array of aircraft systems from DJI to Pixhawk fixed-wings, VTOLs, and multicopters, and Piccolo fixed wing systems. At BAAM.Tech, Jared’s experience has allowed him to lead successful ocean operations in the Pacific, photogrammetry and LiDAR data collection across the US, and a multitude of other UAS R&D experiments.
