DJI P4 RTK Firmware Update Brings New Map Services

DJI P4 RTK with integrated controller

Following DJI’s announcement regarding updates to their map services, firmware updates including the updated map services have begun to roll out to some DJI products, beginning with the DJI P4 RTK, a compact low-altitude mapping solution.

The latest Phantom 4 RTK aircraft firmware has been labeled as v02.02.0611, while the remote controller is updated to v02.02.0612 and the SDK controller v02.02.0611. Operators are urged to update their DJI GS RTK app to v2.2.5-GSP, allowing for them to update both the aircraft and controllers. It has been noted by DJI, that both items must be upgraded to the latest version for them to continue working together.

Alternatively, operators may also update the Phantom 4 RTK firmware using DJI Assistant 2 for Phantom.

In addition to these updates, DJI has added the Smart Return to Home option in Aircraft Battery setting within the DJI GS RTK app.  When GNSS is available, Smart RTH can be initiated from the RTH button on the remote controller to recall the P4 RTK to the last recorded Home Point. Using the primary camera, the aircraft will be able to identify obstacles as far as 300m ahead of it, allowing it to plan a safe return to the Home Point.
