First Time Setup #
Phantom 4 Parameter Setup #
The tuning needs to be adjusted on the Phantom 4 Pro to handle the change in weight from the PPK Modification, and needs to be updated before flying.
- In the DJI Go 4 App, your connected Aircraft will automatically pull up. If your device is not connecting automatically, manually select the aircraft you wish to connect to.
- Select “Go Fly” once the Aircraft is connected and available.
- Click the top right menu (○○○) and select General Settings.
- Once in the General Settings Menu, select the Main Controller Settings located at the top left of the General Settings Menu.
- Select Advanced Settings and then select Gain.
- Change Pitch to 110, and Roll to 110.
Critical Changes #
If all of the visual positioning sensors are not turned off, it can result in your DJI Phantom 4 to crash. Turn off all the visual position options in the menu, and check them prior to every flight. These settings can change with updates to your aircraft firmware.
- Click the top right menu (○○○) and select General Settings.
- Select Visual Navigation Settings (icon below Main Controller Settings)
- Disable the Visual Obstacle Avoidance option in this menu.
- Then go to Advance Settings and make sure all settings are turned off.
Cold Startup #
It is important to preform a cold startup, whether recently receiving the Phantom 4 Pro with BAAM.Tech PPK, or intending to operate in a location more than 200 miles away from the initial setup.
- Power up the unit outside
- Wait 4-5 minutes to allow for the acquiring of satellites
